ARC Book Review - The Chemistry of Us, by M. Robinson, Rachel Van Dyken

Book Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Vaughan grew up on the wealthy side of NY / Martha Vineyard crowd. He has always loved football and wants to go into the NFL and play professionally. However, right now his senior year of college he needs to get his grades up so he can graduate and then go into the NFL Draft. Who is the study tutor he gets, Tru. Neither can stand each other, as they have history with one another since they were teenagers who lived next door to one another.

Tru grew up in the foster system. She didn't know 'love' or kindness growing up. When she was a teenager, she was adopted by a wealthy family who summered on Martha's Vineyard. They paraded her around to their wealthy friends showing her off, to show what a kindness they did by adopting her. When she moved in with her new family she was right next doo to Vaughan and his family. They became fast friends, even though at 16 Vaughan already had a 'bad' reputation.

Now that both Vaughan and Tru are senior's in college together, and now they are roommates, they must get along. They have a hate / hate relationship with each other right now. But, Vaughan needs Tru as someone to help him with his classes, and Tru needs a place to rent - aka bedroom right next to his in the condo. Both decide to call a truce and work together.

Vaughan thought Tru was hiding something from him when they were teenagers, that's why he holds so much against her. Tru never knew why Vaughan left her the way he did.

Will Vaughan and Tru be able to work out their differences?
