ARC Book Review - Playoff (L.A. Phantoms #4), by Kat Mizera

Book Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

One night the bus carrying the NHL hockey the LA Phantom's hits black ice up in Alaska and crashes. No one has died, but, plenty of players have been hurt. Needing more players the NHL team reaches out to the minor league team, calling up Blake and a few other players to the NHL team.

Blake is a hockey player on the Phantom's minor league hockey team in Phoenix. He knows he's one of the older players and he is coming to an end to be able to play in the minor league team.

Rowan works for the same LA Phantom's team, she is one of the physical therapist for the team. Rowan saved a lot of the players after the crash and saved her boss, who also had a heart attack that same night of the bus crash. Rowan works with all the players helping them with any injuries they may have during the regular season.

When the team comes back to LA, they know they are getting more players from the minor league team. Rowan realizes that she is going to see Blake who has gotten called up. Blake and Rowan were together most of high school and then a little in college. Blake was the one that got away for Rowan. They never really had any closure. They just quit talking to one another.

Now that Blake is on the same team Rowan knows they have to talk and have to be friendly to each other. Blake has never found anyone he loves like he loved Rowan. Now that they are back together working together he wants to be around her more and more. He wants to prove to her that he is the one she should choose again.

Rowan has guarded her heart since she and Blake broke up all those years ago. Will she be willing to open her heart up again? Or should she guard herself again Blake and possible heart ache yet again?
