Book Trope: Enemies to lovers. Grumpy vs Sunshine.
Phoenix Thorne owns and runs Maple Valley brewery. The family has the orchards and shops also on their property that needs looking after. Usually his other siblings and father run the orchard. Phoenix went to college for 1 year, but then his dad needed him back home to help with the kids and the business.
Elyna has a younger brother Luc Chabot who we met in Tempting the Goalie. Luc is dating Phoenix's younger sister - Izzy who has always been great with Elyna and suggested she go for a job at the brewery. Elyna has returned to their hometown Val-Du-Lys in Canada. She has a 6 month old baby boy, and no where else to live, so they are back living in her childhood home with her alcoholic father. Elyna applies for a job at Maple Valley brewery with Phoenix as her boss.
Phoenix and Elyna grew up together as their mom's were best friends, and they lived in the same neighborhood growing up. Phoenix and Elyna didn't have the same friend group in high school. They didn't even acknowledge each other during school even though they were usually together on the weekends with family dinners and hanging out.
Now that they are working together can Phoenix actually be nice to Elyna? Or can he only glare at her from across the room? Elyna isn't sure what Phoenix wants from her. She knows she can work for him. But, can she be alone with him without the daggers getting thrown at her?
