ARC Book Review - Twisted Pawn (Society of Villains, #2) by L.J. Shen

 




Book Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 

We meet most of the same characters from Book 1, Bad Bishop. I recommend reading book 1, Bad Bishop as the characters, history are explained. Book 2, picks up where Bad Bishop leaves off.     

Book Tropes: Enemies to Lovers, Second Chance, Morally grey hero, Obsessed, Stalker, Slow Burn. 

Tierney Callaghan & Achilles met when they were teenagers and they were mostly together dating in secret through their high school days. Tierney and Tiernan Callaghan are twins. They were taken as babies and raised in a Russian work camp. They both have trauma from that experience. Both were raised as killers and can fight with the best of them. Tierney doesn't need the bodyguards Achilles makes guard her, she's her own bodyguard. When Tierney goes on dates, or hooks up with other guys, that's the last time they are alive. Achilles usually ends their lives after they have touched her.

Achilles Ferrante, was the boy who climbed through her bedroom window standing in the shadows a strong force keeping nightmares at bay. They were together during most of their high school time. The family's didn't know they were together. Achielles is supposed to be his families next 'DON' heir to the mafia throne. His father wants him to stop stalking Tierney and just kill her. Achilles can't do that of course. Achilles is the only person who can pull Tierney out of the darkness when she thinks about her past at the Russian workcamp.  

Achilles always calls Tierney, Piccola Fiamma, meaning little flame.

  Book Rating:    This is book #2 in the series. You can read book #2 without reading #1 Truly Madly Deeply.  The characters are all explained, who belongs to who. Dylan Casablancas has liked Rhyland ever since they were teenagers. But, with her brother being his best friend she knows she will never be able to date him. Her brother wouldn't allow that when they were growing up. But, now that they are older, and not living close to her brother would they be able to be together? Would her brother find out? ARC Book Review - Heart of Frost and Scars, (Frozen Fate #3), by Pam Godwin

  Book Rating:  This is the 3rd book in the series, the conclusion of the series. You do need to read the other 2 books prior, as this continues where book 2 left off. We have Leonid, Kody, Frankie and Monty. Monty has opened his home / island to Leonid, Kody & Frankie to live in and recover. The three take the guest house next to the main house Monty is in.  Frankie starts getting text messages and phone calls from a blocked / restricted number. No one is sure who is sending them. Other than she is being watched and the person at the other end knows what everyone in the house is doing. Frankie now has a stalker.  Leonid and Kody seem to be adapting well to living in Sitka and the area.
