Lace 'em Up (Bang Brothers Hockey #1), by Elise Faber
Kingston "King" Bang rescues a runaway bride from the side of the road. King is a NHL hockey player, he has 5 other siblings. His siblings nicknamed their mom Momma Bang. Having a last name of Bang would get a lot of teasing growing up I'm sure.
Aurora "Rory" has run away from her wedding. She has no coat, only 1 shoe, and a tattered dress. It turns out that Rory's husband-to-be just beat her up for choosing a dress his mother didn't approve of. She chose a dress she wanted and one she liked. Now that she's walking down the street beat up and holding her stomach, King comes to her rescue and scoops her up and places her into his truck.
King helps Rory heal and lets her stay in his house. He has a top notch security system. Rory is worried about being in his way. However, he refuses to let her go anywhere else. Rory grew up with an evil stepmother and stepsisters. After her father died they treated her horribly. She has never had an easy go at life. Rory does have a fantastic boss, who is also King's boss - he owns the hockey team.
Parts of the book were jumbled, like the sentence or paragraph wasn't all the way finished.
I did receive a free ARC book. I am freely leaving an honest review.
