ARC Book Review - Here to Eternity (Moonlit Ridge #1), By A.L. Jackson
Book Rating:

Here to Eternity is the 1st book in the new Moonlit Ridge series.
River Tayte is a tattoo artist at River of Ink. River is a beast of a man, taking up the whole door frame when he stands inside of it. River is covered in tattoos. River is very protective of Nolan and Raven and his crew of guys he's known since they were all teenagers. River and his crew of guys also formed a club, where they help women and kids escape those who are harming them and get them into better places to live.
Nolan Tayte is River's son. River and Nolan have a very special bond, they love each other. Nolan always calls River - Daddy-O! He is a 5 yr old little boy who is very precious.
Raven Tayte is River's younger sister. She owns a flower shop in town. Charleigh happens to rent an apartment over Raven's flower shop, and they become fast friends. Raven doesn't care she just met you she is an instant best friend. Raven knows Charleigh is running from something, but isn't sure what. She knows Charleigh has been hurt in her past, but doesn't push her to find out. Raven is always being watched over by her brother River. She wants to date but, he never lets anyone close enough to her. Raven has feelings towards her brother's friend Otto, but he only sees Raven as a 'little' sister since they've known each other so long.
Charleigh Lowe, is a medical assistant at the Health Clinic in Moonlit Ridge. She hasn't been in the area long at all. She walks into River's tattoo shop one night requesting a tattoo. River is working on someone else, but they give up their spot as Charleigh seems to need it more than they do. Charleigh is very skittish, gets scared very quickly. She's always looking over her shoulder for her past to catch up with her. Charleigh escaped an abusive relationship and ran and just kept running. Every time she gets a feeling someone is watching her she gets up and leaves. When she tries to do that with River he catches her and won't let her.
This book is a slow burn. It does take a little while for the characters to talk about their past with each other. I wasn't expecting it to take as long as it did for them to share with each other.
I did receive a free ARC Book copy of this book. I am freely leaving an honest review.
