ARC Book Review - Play the Game (Blue Devils Hockey #1), by S.J. Sylvis

Emory Olson is a hockey goalie for the Blue Devil's, a professional hockey team in Chicago. Emory hasn't had the best light in the public's eye. He is just seen as a womanizer - from the press always taking pictures of him with different women, even if nothing happened with them. He is new to the Blue Devil's hockey team, he was traded from another team hoping his attitude would change on the ice. 

Scottie has always had a bad hand dealt to her in life. She loved her father, and he didn't live long. Scottie and him were two pea's in a pod. He would always take her to the Blue Devil games, they were great at watching hockey, that was what they did together. Her mother has a lot of demons that include drugs and alcohol and she is currently homeless, living on the mean streets of Chicago. Scottie always knows where to find her though, she finds her and gives her food and clothing. 

Scottie is working as a stripper at a local club, the Cat House. Emory and his teammates are frequent visitors. Scottie has a bright idea to get a picture with Emory and blackmail him into giving her money. However, this backfires on Scottie. 

Emory comes up with a plan for him and Scottie to marry! He wants a fake wife to help improve his image and then the press would leave him alone instead of always making things up about him. 

Will a fake marriage work for them? Or will Scottie's past be a problem for Emory? Will Emory look into her demons and her past and try to help her?
