ARC Book Review - Faking Ties (The Sentinels #1), by Alexis Gorgun

Book Rating⭐⭐⭐⭐

This is very much a Taylor / Travis Romance story.

Hunter Holt plays professional NFL football. It's the only thing he's ever wanted to do, and the only thing his dad let him focus on.

Elodie Smith works at a local coffee shop earning tips and money for her and her mom's cancer treatment.  Elodie is tall - about 6 ft, and has an amazing singing voice. She went to a karaoke night with a friend, and that video went viral on social media. Elodie gets a message from a very popular singer, Stella Wilde who wants to meet.  Elodie isn't sure about meeting at first, but they do. They look exactly the same, Stella thinks she found her doppelganger.

Stella needs to take time off from singing / traveling / performing, and needs Elodie to step in and play 'her' for a few months while she has surgery and then her recovery time. Elodie isn't sure at first, but then Stella says how much she will pay her and Elodie agrees so now Elodie can pay for her mom's treatments and round the clock care nurse.

The first night as 'Stella' Elodie trips and falls on the red carpet. Who is there to help her? Hunter. Hunter helps her through the red carpet and gets inside into the event. Elodie isn't sure at first about him, but she's drawn to him.

It does end with a few questions left unanswered. Who are Stella and Elodie's birth parents? I don't think we ever found out that. Stella's bodyguard, are they more than just a business relationship?

I did receive a free ARC book copy of this book. I am freely leaving an honest review.
