Alexander Hardy—is British soccer star extraordinaire. He was sent away to a boarding school when he was a teenager that specialized in soccer even though he didn't want to go at the time it shaped him into the person he is today. He goes by his last name, Hardy hates being called Alex especially by his stepfather.  

Hardy is the golden boy of the soccer world, but, is also a playboy. He gets into so much trouble. His current team wants him to clean up his image or they are going to let him go. His agent suggests that he works with a local soccer youth team to help improve him image. Hardy meets Whitney and is instantly taken with her. He can't believe she's doing so much for the club with so little. 

Whitney Barnes has been in an out of foster homes most of her life. She depends on herself. She doesn't like reaching out for help even when she needs it the most. She is currently running a soccer club, with a pay as you go, pay what you can slogan.  She isn't making any money, she's living in a shoe box of an apartment. Whitney teaches the kids soccer and her facility is hanging together with tape and glue. She needs help or she is going to lose the club all together. 

Whitney was once a soccer star herself, but, was injured and never got back to playing. She is showing Hardy what he is doing wrong when he trains at  the facility she runs. Hardy is glad for her coaching and her helpfulness. Will Whitney let her stubbornness have a break and let Hardy and his teammates help her and the club? 

This book was a bit on the long side.
