ARC Book Review - The Girlfriend Zone, (Love and Hockey #4), by Lauren Blakely

Book Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Miles plays for a NHL Hockey team. He is being considered as 'co' captain with the team. He's trying to put his best leg forward with the coach and the team. Miles's brother Tyler has just been brought in with the team. They've haven't played together since high school. Miles is in his 30's, so, he isn't as young as the other players, he's about 10yrs or more older than the new players.

Leighton is the coaches daughter, who refers to her as Mini Mac One and his other daughter as Mini Mac Two. Leighton is 23/24 yrs old. She is a photographer, who is trying to make it with new clients and paying her own way. The team photographer is taking off for a few months for paternity leave and he recommended Leighton to the boss's as a possible fill in while he is out for the next 3 months. Leighton agrees and wants to work with the team and her father. She's at the hockey stadium daily setting up different pictures and different promos for the team.

Leighton does take on more work than she should. She's booking extra work with a lot of different people / players to earn money so she can move out of the apartment she shares with another couple.

Miles and Leighton meet as a blind date set up and get together without knowing who each other are. Leighton thinks Miles is a chef. He can cook wonderful dishes, and he loves to cook and help others. Once Miles & Leighton find out who each other actually are they agree to be friends, and not see each other like they want to. After a year of being friends and being around each other they can't deny their feelings for one another.

This book was on the longer side. Could have been cut down more.

I did receive a free ARC Copy of this book. I am freely leaving an honest review.
