ARC Book Review: Play It Off, (Kings of Campus #2), by Monica Murphy

Play It Off by Monica Murphy is Book #2 in the Kings of Campus series. Some of the character we met in Book #1 End Game. You can read this book as a stand alone. 

Gavin Maddox is the hot quarterback for the UC Santa Mira (UCSM) football team. His best friend is Coop, who has a younger sister Sienna who is just a year behind them.  Gavin & Sienna really hit it off her Freshman year. But, once they are hot and heavy back in her dorm room her roommate interupts them. Two years later they still haven't gone back to each other, they haven't made any moves towards each other. They have been just avoiding each other, or treating like they don't exist. Gavin doesn't want to rock the boat with her friendship and her brother's friendship. They all are in a great friend group together, but, neither wants to rock the boat.   

Sienna Cooper is a younger sister to Coop who is also on the football team. Sienna feels that she's always taken 2nd place to her brother. She hates being put second. She wants to be seen. She wants to be the one people want to be around, and not just because she's Coop's sister. She wants to be chosen first. When Sienna starts seeing someone else Gavin gets super upset & very jealous he knows that he needs her, he can't stand to see her with someone else wanting to date her. 

Gavin just wanted to be engaged with school, homework, football and workouts. He thinks having a relationship with Sienna would take away from his football and his goals of getting into the NFL. He doesn't want to have any distractions.
