Dylan McCoy is a songwriter for a popular artist. She has escaped LA for the small town of Sunnyville, to work on the songs for the next album for the artist. Usually she works with Jett, the artist, but they recently broke up and she wants space away from him. Her brother suggests going to the small town of Sunnyville and going to Grady's as he is a firefighter, and has an extra room. Dylan has been called the Jett whisperer by the record label business group. If they want Jett to agree to anything they bring it to Dylan first so she can approach him. 

Grady Malone is a firefighter in Sunnyville. He loves being a firefighter. A few years ago he was in an accident on the job. A building collapsed and he lost his best friend, and he walked away with horrible scars on his back as a beam fell on him giving him 3rd degree burns mostly on his back. Grady lives with a pet pig, Petunia, who has a doggy door and mostly harmless unless she is trying to get your food.

Grady & Dylan start to have feelings for each other. But, Grady doesn't really want a relationship, he likes to keep things loose. He doesn't want a wife and have to worry about being on the job and getting hurt. He saw what that did to his best friends wife, and it devastated her, and he doesn't want that for a wife / partner. Grady likes Dylan but she always puts herself down, maybe because the ex - Jett always did or didn't help give her positive feedback on her looks while they were together.  

Will Dylan & Grady be able to have a relationship? Will they be able to heal from their 'wounds'? Or will getting in their heads ruin everything before it even starts?
