ARC Book Review - At the Edge of Surrender (Moonlit Ridge #3), by A.L. Jackson
Book Rating:
Emery is just visiting Moonlit Ridge. She and her mom, and her niece, Maci, are in town to see Kane. Emery's had a twin sister Emmalee who recently passed away. Emmalee left a letter stating who Maci's father is and where to find him. At first glance Emery can't believe that her twin sister went out with Kane. But, the more time she spends with him the more she realizes that he is just a big teddy bear himself.
Emery & Maci agree to stay at Kane's house for 4 weeks to see how Kane and Maci get along. Emery doesn't want to leave her niece, but, will Kane let her have a choice to take her or to leave her?
Kane is a member of Sovereign Sanctum with our other group we know, Otto, River, Theo & Cash. Kane and his brothers help women and children escape from men who have harmed them, or are in situations they shouldn't be involved in. When Emery drops the bomb on Kane about Maci being his, he doesn't even remember Emmalee, who just went by Lee when he met her 5 yrs ago. He barely remember her and her friends at the bar. Now Emery is telling him he's a dad? Kane is instantly drawn to Emery who has sad eyes and he knows she's been hurt before. Will Kane be able to help her with her past?
