If he deems girls ugly, or undesirable then the other guys wouldn't even talk to them. When he first sets his eyes on Sinclair, all he could see was braces, and long legs. She was only 14, but, he deemed her undesirable, and kept tormenting her the remainder of her freshman year of high school.
Sinclair was 14 when she started her freshman year of high school at Lancaster Prep. Her family was new to the area, and new to money. They weren't as rich as the Lancaster family, which was old money, but what wealth they had now was a lot more than they did have. Sinclair isn't sure who the Lancaster family is, what they are in the area. She figures out soon enough into her freshman year.

After she graduates from high school she gets into a private college, and who else is there as the big man on campus? August Lancaster. Will he remember her? Will he remember how he was to her back at Lancaster Prep? August seeks her out at the frat parties. He never chases the girl, but with Sinclair there is something about her that he wants, he needs. After she rejects him, August contacts his sister to see if she remembers her, and she fills him in on all the bad that he did to her, and he instantly feels horrible. August remains a constant trying to get to speak with Sinclair. She gives in and wants to be with August, even though he was awful to her all those years ago.
August wants Sinclair to believe he likes her for her. But, all she can think of is how he treated her when they were younger. Once Sinclair talks with August's sister, she understands a bit more and has forgiven him on a level. Sinclair wants to be with August too. August knows that she just isn't into him for his families money. She is into him because she likes him, and not just for the money, as her family has money also.
Will August be able to convince Sinclair he truly likes her and wants her?
