ARC Book Review - Falling Stars (Wild at Heart #2) by Lex Martin

Book Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Baylee, lives in Wild Heart, a small town. She runs a hair salon that her mother let her take over when she moved to Amarillo, TX. With the salon rent going up and up she's not sure how much longer she can hold onto it. Baylee had a boyfriend, who decided he wanted to be back with his ex, but, that was after she found out she was pregnant, and he of course didn't want anything to do with her. Now that she has Leo in her life, she doesn't know how she is going to afford the salon rent, house rent, the hospital birthing bill, so many bills going out and barely anything coming in to help cover anything.  She and Paige are still BFF's, every since elementary school.

Maverick has invested in some properties in the small town of Wild Heart. He left Paige in charge to decorate it and to rent it out.  Paige knew Baylee was being evicted from her house, and has the keys to one of the condo properties, and has Baylee and Leo move in as Paige knows Maverick would never charge her rent and Paige won't be either.

Maverick, plays for a NFL team up in New York. He hates the noise, the hustle and bustle of the city. He misses small town life, and the quite of the ranch he grew up on with his brothers. During high school Baylee let him know that she wanted more than friendship with him, but, he always said that crossing the line romantically with Baylee would ruin their friendship, but what if he was wrong all along?

Maverick was hurt really bad in a December NFL Game and has come back to the small town and goes to his condo, thinking it would be empty. But is surprised when he finds Baylee and Leo inside. He tells her that he will always take care of them and she never has to worry again. But with a few of Maverick's old girlfriends around seeing if Maverick is still interested has Baylee on edge. She's not sure if Maverick is just settling for her? If he does truly love her? Will he go back to the other girls if she's not around?
