ARC Book Review - Lucky Shot (Moonshot Hockey Book 1) by Rebecca Jenshak

Book Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Ruby is pure happiness and sunshine. She is from Arizona, where she's always lived. Her family is all in the same area, and she loves being with them when they are all able to. Ruby is a paranormal romance writer, she loves her vampires. Her agent has been shopping around one of her earlier books, a baseball sports romance story, one Ruby completely forgot about. But, instead of baseball, her agent wants her to change it to a hockey romance. Ruby's brother in law is a major league baseball player and he helped her write most of the book to begin with, helping her with all the terms and plays. Now, ice hockey? She isn't a sporty person. Who will she work with on changing this?

Nick is a NHL hockey player. He has been ice skating since he was four. He loves the sport and loves working with the younger kids getting them involved with hockey. He has a son, who is in 5th grade and is doing summer hockey league. Nick's father lives with him and his son on his property. They have a main cabin and a side cabin, which the dad is supposed to live in, but he stays in the main cabin mostly. Ruby's publisher calls Nick's house one day to see if Ruby could come and have him be her coach for a few weeks to help her with the terms of hockey. Nick's dad agrees and invites Ruby to stay at the side cabin for her stay. Of course Nick knows nothing of this. He is upset when Ruby shows up on their doorstep one day. But, after meeting with her and talking to her he realizes she is just after information for her book, not needing his private information like many paparazzi magazine journalists are after.

Nick is slow to warm up to Ruby. He does see she is interested in learning about the sport, and about his teammates and how they all work together. Ruby knows Nick is a grumpy guy, but, will having her around him brighten his day and his attitude?
