ARC Book Review - One Shot: Wyverns Hockey Book One A.C. Wonderland

Lauren "Chip" Bellinger (Laur) - is a junior in college. Her brother, Nick was a year older, and should be a senior in college. However, a year ago they were both in a car crash and Nick didn't survive. Lauren was in a dark place, she didn't want to continue without her brother, her best friend. But, once she found out she got a spot on the Wyverns Hockey PR Team she is happy to help the hockey team and be a part of what her brother loved, Hockey. 

Lucas Donato is the new hockey captain for the Wyverns team. He is a junior, like Lauren and like her brother Nick was when he was the captain for the team. Lucas played under Nick, and has wonderful fond memories of him. Meeting Lauren and having her on the team now is amazing. Lucas starts falling for Lauren almost right away.

Lauren doesn't want to like Lucas, however, he is amazing and is nice, kind, and is an amazing hockey player. Lauren has sworn off dating since her accident. But, she wants to be around Lucas, but, she's not sure if he will like to stay friends and nothing more. 

Lauren and Lucas seem to be focused on school and hockey. Both have their goals set. Lauren is really great with her marketing and PR group. She is also writing articles of the hockey team for a hockey magazine who love her pictures. Lucas is focused on school and hockey. Even though they have little time to be together they do try to see each other off the ice a bit. 

The author, A.C. Wonderland is a new to me author. 

This book is on the longer side. Back stories, side stories, could have been cut down. The actual story is really good, it does get side tracked a bit though.

  Book Rating:    This is book #2 in the series. You can read book #2 without reading #1 Truly Madly Deeply.  The characters are all explained, who belongs to who.
