ARC Book Review - Beyond the Blue Horizon, (Moonlit Ridge #4), by A.L. Jackson
Book Rating:
Theo Mallin and his crew - Kane, Otto, River, Cash, have been together since they were teenagers living together, trying to survive the streets. They broke away from the MC crew they were with and created Sovereign Sanctum a rescue type group that helps women and children leave bad situations that they may be in. Theo hasn't really been with many women, besides a one night stand. Theo runs the Sanctum hotel keeping those who they rescue close and are able to watch them until they are able to move them into their permanent new life. Almost like a witness protection / relocation program.
Piper, her grandmother and young son - Finn, are on the run. But, from what? When they get into a car accident due to the snow Theo is there to rescue them. But, Piper is very standoffish and doesn't trust Theo. She doesn't trust anyone. Piper finally agrees to let Theo help them back to a town, where they can get warm and maybe have a good night sleep. Piper was once in fashion design for college, but, she only completed 2 yrs. Now it's just a dream she gets every once and awhile that she's able to go back and finish up college.
When Theo came upon the crash with Piper and her family he knew he had to have Piper. He couldn't escape her. Theo is there at every turn it seems, helping her, buying them groceries, and clothes. He bought a Christmas Tree for Finn as he stated he never had one. Theo knows Piper is running from something but she won't open up to him. If he opens up to her maybe she will open up to him? Theo is torn at opening his heart again but, he knows Piper is the one for him, the one who can't get away.
Favorite Quote from Theo: "You are every horizon. Every destination. You are the air I breathe and the ground beneath my feet. And because of you, this dead heart beats.”
I did receive a free ARC copy of this book from Valentine PR. I am freely leaving a honest book review.
