ARC Book Review - On Borrowed Time (Blossom Peak #2), by Harlow James
Book Rating:

Book Trope - single dad-nanny, grumpy sunshine, forced proximity romance
This is the 2nd book in the series. You can read each as a standalone, as the characters are explained.
Henley Clark owns the ski lodge in the Blossom Peak area. His sister Dilynne, is a car mechanic in the small town. When they grew up there parents kept disappearing, and after being gone for a few weeks, the kids were placed in foster care. Henley and his sister Dilynne were able to stay together, in the house with Carol and Nick who have loved them ever since they were teenagers. Henley cares a lot of the mad / rage from his parents leaving him and his sister. He never got over them leaving.
Henley isn't into relationships. He is more of a love them and leave them type of guy. But, he keeps getting phone calls from a woman he had a sleep over with. Then he found out he is a father to a baby girl, Remy. The mom stated she couldn't do this and left Remy with Henley. Henley has zero clues / ideas about babies. He doesn't even know where to start!
Elodie Olsen came to the lodge to be a waitress in the bar / restaurant, but, when Henley see's she has a background with childcare he asks her if she would be willing to be a nanny instead of a waitress. Elodie isn't sure about being a nanny, but, realizes Henley needs all the help he can get. She agrees. Elodie is running from her past, she doesn't know what she wants to do with her future. She was in LA trying to make it as a singer / songwriter, but, has given up on that and moved back east. She and her family vacationed in Blossom Peak when she was younger, and she knew she wanted to quiet lifestyle after being in LA.
Now that Elodie is back in Blossom Creek, which is about 2 hrs from her parents, she needs to think about her future and if she still wants to be a singer / song writer. Being around Henley and Remy makes her realize family is what she wants and what she craves. Will Remy and Henley be able to survive the 4 month old Remy? Will Remy be able to get Henley to open up?
I did receive a free ARC book copy. I am freely leaving a honest book review.
