ARC Book Review - Rise of Ink and Smoke (Frozen Fate #4), by Pam Godwin
Book Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This is book #4, a spinoff of the Frozen Fate trilogy by Pam Godwin. You can read as a standalone. Although I would read the previous books. I’ve read the book trilogy and just love them..
Wolfson Strakh one of the captives from the Frozen Fate trilogy books was 'lost'. No one knew what happened to him once he went over the side of the cliff. The brothers didn't know if he survived or not. Wolfson did survive, but, he was held captive after that and finally escaped making his way back to his family.
Wolfson works at a tattoo shop in Sitka, and lives on the island property with his family. One day he is walking in town and sees a woman in a wedding dress running straight for him. All he can think about is that Cinderella finally escaped and she's going to lose her shoes! When Wolfson finally catches up to the woman, he realizes that she is running from someone, her step-brother who has been stalking her.
Dove Rath blows into Sitka thinking she's going to get married but, turns out he was cheating on her the whole time they were together. Now Dove doesn't know what to do. She doesn't have enough money to make it back down to California. She needs to work and earn money. But, where will she live? Wolfson the handsome stranger she just met offers her a room on the island he lives at with his family. Who is he? Why would he offer a stranger a room? Dove doesn't know what to think. But, she is drawn to him in a way she's never been connect to anyone before. Dove wants to be with him, even if he and his family act very strange. Dove doesn't believe that they have only been in society for 6 months, but, once she does some internet searching on all of them it turns out they haven't been in the real world long at all.
Will Dove and Wolfson be able to come together? Or will her step brother get in the way? Will Wolfson keep his family intact?
This book is very long, 800 pages. It does take time to get through and process.
I did receive a free ARC copy of this book from the Author, Pam Godwin. I am freely reading and leaving my honest feedback.
