Book Review: Reminders of Him, by Colleen Hoover
Book Rating:

Kenna Nicole Rowan has served 5 years in prison. She's been released and isn't sure where to go. She knows the small town where her daughter Diem is may not be very welcoming to her, she struggles with if she should or should go there. She's saved up enough money to make the change from the busy Denver city life to the small town where her daughter is.
Kenna and Scotty had been dating awhile. When a night of drinking comes into play while driving down a gravel road. Both Kenna and Scotty had been drinking, although Kenna was not as drunk, so, she drove. She didn't know the curvy gravel roads that led back to the small town. She wrecked the car and flipped them over. Killing Scotty, or so she thought. She walked back to town as she couldn't find her phone in the wreckage. But, once she got back to town she passed out instead of calling for help or going to get help. She was arrested and placed in jail for the next 5 years. When she entered prison she didn't realize she was pregnant and wasn't sure what would happen to her child when she was delivered.
Ledger Ward and Scotty were best friends growing up. They did everything together. Scotty's parents are like a second set of parents to him. Ledger's parents were a second set of parents to Scotty also. Ledger never met Scotty's girlfriend Kenna 5 years ago, as he was going into the NFL draft and tryouts. Ledger is the owner of a local bar, Wards. He played for the Denver Bronco's NFL Team and was cut just 2 years into his career. Now he came back to the small town that he was raised in to be closer to Diem and her grandparents they live right across the street from each other.
Ledger and Kenna meet on her first night in town when she goes into his bar to see how he changed it from a book store into a bar. She sits and writes to 'Scotty' but its just a journal that she's been writing in to have her thoughts down in. Ledger never met Kenna and Kenna only knew his name. They started dating / seeing each other. When Kenna tries to see Diem he realizes who Kenna is and he tries to get her out of town. He knows Scotty's parents don't want to have anything to do with her. But, she wants to see her daughter, Diem.
Colleen Hoover is a writer who likes to throw tragedy's into her books. There is a lot of back story to what happened 5 years ago, and what should have happened. Was Kenna totally to blame? No. Was she? Yes. Should Scotty's parents been less harsh? Probably. But, they did just loose their only child in a accident.
I am freely leaving a honest book review.
