ARC Book review - Dr. Dempsey, (Dempsey’s Follies book 1), bY Grace Maxwell
Book Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Book Trope: Family drama. Long lost love. Re-united second chance love.
Alaric is a physiological and loves what he does. He is stretched way too thin. He is always working, always on call. His family owns and operates a winery in town. His grandmother - Evie, is a bit of a headache for everyone in the family. Evie often calls on Alaric to vent to him. Alaric just wants to work. When Liz comes back into his life he wants to be with her but dealing with his family the hospital is often to draining on him.
Evie thinks everyone in town is out to get her. She thinks people are poisoning the water to the vines and she is always blaming and judging her family.
Liz, has been in Vancouver but recently moved to Paradise to be closer to her brother and his family. She works in hospital administration. She deals with the CEO / and board members weekly if not daily. She’s always looking to see what could be improved at the hospital.
This book had a good story. But one too many stories got in the way. Internal Family feud, external family feud. Town people against each other. Co-workers against each other. Long lost love. Re-united second chance love.
I did receive a free ARC copy of this book. I am freely leaving a honest book review.
