Book Trope:  young love, hockey romance

Maverick Murphy, has played for the LA NHL hockey team for a few years now. He is a local celebrity and a huge hockey star on the team. He always remembers the times growing up when his family would spend summers with Dove’s family on their peach tree farm. Now that she needs help he opens his house to her so she has a place to live while she’s in town. Growing up Maverick always wanted Dove as a girlfriend but knew his family’s friendship with each other was more important.

Dove - has lived in the small town her whole life. Her family has owned and ran a peach farm. Something has happened with the peach trees, and now that she in college, she needs to find out what is happening and if she can stop it. A fungus has infected the soil of the trees and she has a invitation to go to a Cal Teach for a semester to see if she can work with the professors and see if there is something she can do to help the trees. Dove always wanted Maverick as a boyfriend but never crossed that line with him.

Now that they are adults and living together the small touches and kisses start adding up and one thing leads to another……they don’t want to ‘date’ as she is leaving at the end of the semester. But she wants to be with him while the can be. Maverick wants Dove but also knows that having her thrust into the light as a girlfriend may not be the best while she’s working to save her farm.

Will Maverick and Dove be able to admit their feelings towards each other and be a couple? Will Dove be able to save her peach tree farm? Or will the creepy neighbor who is trying to poach their lands win?

I did receive a free ARC copy of this book. I am freely leaving a honest book review.
