Jude Kensington is the playboy of Pembroke Hills Country Club, and a billionaire bachelor. Jude's best guy friend is Cal who is newly engaged to Lucy, who is Charlotte's best girl friend. Jude is a notorious flirt, who always flirts with Charlotte.
Charlotte has been working as a bar cart girl at Pembroke Hills Country Club for the past year. She moved from Arizona after falling in love with Martha's Vineyard area. She loves the people and the atmosphere of the area and the golf course. Charlotte and Jude met last year and became fast friends. The place Charlotte has been renting wants to have someone else come in and pay the full rental fee for the summer time and now Charlotte is needing a new place to live.
Jude recently got a knock on his door. A lady he dated last summer has a 4 month old baby girl. She claims it is his. Jude barely seems to remember this lady. But, she doesn't want to be a mom, she wants Jude to now have Ava, the little baby in question. Jude has no idea of what to do with babies. Luckily he has a great friend, Charlotte who has a lot of experience with babies, and she is able to come and help him. Jude asks Charlotte to move in since she needs a place to stay and she can help him with baby Ava.
Jude and Charlotte have feelings for each other. But, they aren't sure if moving from friends to something more would be good for them. But, Charlotte keeps having more feelings towards Jude - when he wears his glasses, when he covers her hand with his, when he keeps calling her and Ava 'his girls'. She's swooning for him, but, isn't sure if acting on those feelings is good or not.
