ARC Book Review - Then There was You, By SL Scott
Book Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Book Tropes: second chance romance. Young love.
Keats Matthews is going to college, he also works as a bus boy at catering events. He was taking a break away from the crowd when Sosie asks him for a cigarette. They start talking and like what each other was saying. Then she disappeared.
When Keats walked back into the millionaires house he sees her being greeted by her father who is making her birthday announcement. Sosie is used to being thrust into the spot light thanks to her father. She does her part of smiling and nodding but she is about to break. Keats got a little glimpse of her true self while they were talking.
Keats and Sosie have a beginning of what could lead to a beautiful romance. But, her father gets in the way and threatens to take everything from Keats that he has. Her father threatens her and makes her feel small and unloved. She wants Keats to have a future and she doesn’t want to be the one to threaten anything he may have in the future.
Six years have passed and now we see Sosie is ‘dating’ someone her parents approve of. Neither are happy though. Keats runs into her at a party. He has finished college and has done great in his career. He has money and wealth. All that he dreamed about when he was younger. He just doesn’t have Sosie. Now that they’ve met again 6 yrs down the road will they be strong enough to stand up to her father? Will Sosie be able to leave her parents and their wealth to stand on her own?
I did receive a free ARC Copy of this book. I am freely leaving a honest book review.
