Dr. Emery Porter has been working hard to get herself established in the sports world. She loves helping players and helping teams. Emery was married, and recently divorced. She took a job in Austin with the new NFL Football team. Not knowing what her future would hold there. But, when she realizes that Lucas is her next door neighbor can she help noticing him? When they become early morning running buddies is there anything he can't do? Lucas has been there for her more than her ex-husband ever had been. Is there something more for Emery & Lucas?

Lucas Hale built his entire life around football. Recovering from a devastating shoulder injury, the veteran quarterback signs with the Lone Star Rebels for one last chance to prove he still belongs in the league. Is Lucas cut out for one more season of NFL football? Lucas doesn't want to admit to himself that football may not be in his future. Lucas doesn't know what he is if it's not football? But, he finds himself being called on by the team, for help, for advice. He gets a call from another player one weekend that the main QB1 is in a drunk state and needs Lucas to come get him. Lucas realizes that these younger players are looking up to him more and more. Lucas can read the plays from the opposing teams quicker than most the actual players, he knows what to anticipate and how to react. The younger players don't. Is coaching in Lucas's future if his shoulder goes out?
