ARC Book Review: Chin Up Champ (The Boys of Sweetwater springs #3), by Ginger Scott
Book Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Book Tropes: he falls first. Second chance romance. Baseball
Jayden Vargas is playing baseball for the minor league team in Sweetwater. He needs a bit of help with his hitting and he hasn’t been the best at listening to the coaches. He has an older brother playing at the professional level. He hopes he will one day be at that level of playing.
Colby Keesler is the new hitting coach for the minor league team Jayden is playing for. Bring a woman in a man’s world she needs to prove herself more and more. Being familiar with baseball from her dad being a high school coach she knows more about baseball from him. Colby also played softball throughout high school and college. She loves the game.
Jayden isn’t sure how things are going to go with Colby on the team with him. They haven’t been friends let alone in the same space for a few years now. Jayden wants her back in his life. He wants them to be more than friends. But is that something Colby wants? Colby doesn’t want their past relationship to get in the way of their work. She doesn’t want to be blamed if it goes good or bad. After Jayden and Colby decide to be together they need to keep it hidden for everyone. Colby will loose her job and Jayden knows the world needs to know how great a hitting Coach Colby is.
Is walking away from the game something Colby and Jayden will do if they can’t be together?
