ARC Book Review: Just Playing for Keeps, (Hockey Ever After #2), by Lauren Blakely
Book Rating:

Book Tropes: grumpy/sunshine, fake dating, obsessed hero, workplace romance, best friend’s brother, hockey romance.
Lake Axelrod plays for the NHL team in San Franscisco, CA. He is a widower. His wife died a few years ago. She was on the women's professional hockey team. They were college sweethearts who got married right after graduation. Lake hasn't dated much since she passed away. But now he has a chance to 'fake' date his sister's friend, Remy.
Remy works part time in the marketing department for the Hockey team Lake plays for. Remy was just dumped by her boyfriend on the ice rinks jumbotron of all places! Oi! Could her life get any worse?!? Remy is all about planning, and scheduling and working out how to do something. She doesn't like surprises. When Lake starts talking with Remy, she isn't sure what to do. He an amazing man, 6'2" of all muscle.
Lake works out a deal with Remy that he will be her 'fake' date to her sisters pre-wedding events and wedding. Lake also suggests that they start hanging out and being a 'couple' before the wedding just so it won't raise any red flags. Remy likes the idea but isn't sure how / why he wants to help her. Lake had started noticing Remy about a year ago and loves her energy and her positivity that she brings.
Will being a 'fake' couple to everything bring them closer together? Will Lake be able to be around her ex-boyfriend Jameson after the way he dumped her? Will Remy like being around Lake? Will the hockey team see a change in the grumpy hockey player after he is around Remy and her sunny side?
I did receive a free ARC copy of this book. I am freely leaving a honest book review.
