Illegal Formation is the final book in the Red Zone Rivals series it is an interconnected standalone. 

What starts as secret hookups and harmless fun quickly turns into something far more dangerous — because the more time we spend sneaking around behind closed doors, the harder it becomes to pretend we’re not already in too deep.

Emily Huxley is a free spirit cheerleader / dancer. She likes getting tattoos and piercings. If she likes an image she gets it tattooed. Her parents are very wealthy and often thought she didn’t belong in their world. She has always thought they didn’t like her or want her around as she didn’t fit their mold. 

Emily has just moved from Austin, TX up to Seattle for the cheerleading try out for the Seahawks football team. Emily is the oldest to try out at 29! She feels like she’s a grandma competing against everyone else. There are a few football players with roses on the reveal day of who made the team. Of course Emily makes the team and gets a rose from Braden who she’s had secretly been watching. With being on the cheerleading team there are a lot of rules she has to now follow. Not being with someone on the football team is one of the rules!! 

Braden Lock, is 25, is still a rookie in his football career. He is on his second year on the Seattle Seahawks team. He does love being on the team. But he is always very stressed and always a rule follower. When he sees Emily for the first time he can’t believe her tattoos and piercings. How? Why? Can she do that and still be in the team? 

Braden and Emily keep running into each other and are usually at the same events together with community outreach programs they have to do. They are flirting with each other at first for a few months not crossing any lines. Then they both give in and kiss!!!! Will Braden let himself live and be in the moment with Emily? Or will he just keep being on the safe and narrow? Braden keeps his family and sister close to his heart. He wants to earn the large football money for them. But his rookie contract is only $3 million, far less than the main NFL teammates. Will he be able to have fun and live in the moment with Emily? 

If the Seahawks team finds out they are romantically together will they be fired? Or will they be safe? Once they start sneaking around to see each other can they keep up the romance?

ARC Book Review - Twisted Pawn (Society of Villains, #2) by L.J. Shen

  Book Rating:    We meet most of the same characters from Book 1, Bad Bishop. I recommend reading book 1, Bad Bishop as the characters, history are explained. Book 2, picks up where Bad Bishop leaves off.      Book Tropes:  Enemies to Lovers, Second Chance, Morally grey hero,  Obsessed , Stalker, Slow Burn.  Tierney Callaghan & Achilles  met when they were teenagers and they were mostly together dating in secret through their high school days. Tierney and  Tiernan Callaghan  are twins. They were taken as babies and raised in a Russian work camp. They both have  trauma   from that experience. Both were raised as killers and can fight with the best of them. Tierney doesn't need the bodyguards Achilles makes guard her, she's her own bodyguard.
