Samantha is 33 yrs old. She works with Adrian at his adult club, running the business. 
Samantha and Adrian have been besties since they were kids and always the platonic kind. Samantha always had a crush on his older brother Nathan (Nate). Even though he was a few years older, Samantha never thought he knew she even existed when she and Adrian where younger. Now that they are all adults in their 30's, she is wondering if the line of friendship between them may get crossed and if they can survive it. 

Nate Wells is Adrian's older brother. He's always known Samantha as she was always at their house when they were growing up. Now that Adrian and Samantha are adults and business partners, Nate isn't sure if their relationship is truely that of friendship, or if there has even been anything more between them. 

At the beginning of the book Adrian is very sick, and Samantha is worried about him. She checks on him while she's on on a date, and then decided to leave said date to be with her best friend. Instead, she finds him laying flat on his stomach in his bathroom. She calls his older brother Nate to come help them. Turns out Adrian has a ruptured apendix! After surgery Adrian and Samantha take over Nate's condo, which is just a few floors above Adrians. Nate doesn't seem to midn the company at all. He is usally alone after he gets home from work, and taking care of Adrian is something that he is glad to help with. 

When Samantha needs a date to her sisters wedding, Adrian suggests that Nate go for the weekend with her. Samantha's family treats her horribly and Adrian knows that she needs a buffer, aka Nate along to help protect her. They agree, but, somewhere during the weekend together lines were crossed. Now that they are back in Denver, can they go back to just being friends? Or what if they continue being 'together' / fake dating each other? Can they be in a realationship? Should they be in a relationship?

ARC Book Review - Twisted Pawn (Society of Villains, #2) by L.J. Shen

  Book Rating:    We meet most of the same characters from Book 1, Bad Bishop. I recommend reading book 1, Bad Bishop as the characters, history are explained. Book 2, picks up where Bad Bishop leaves off.      Book Tropes:  Enemies to Lovers, Second Chance, Morally grey hero,  Obsessed , Stalker, Slow Burn.  Tierney Callaghan & Achilles  met when they were teenagers and they were mostly together dating in secret through their high school days. Tierney and  Tiernan Callaghan  are twins. They were taken as babies and raised in a Russian work camp. They both have  trauma   from that experience.
