Conrad Shepard is Moonshot Hockey's star defenseman. When it comes to talking with the ladies, he totally shuts down. He can't seem to find his voice, his thoughts just run out. When he's out on the ice his a fantastic player, but, just when he gets to talking with the ladies he can't do it. Conrad loves helping the local community area with the hockey teams and being involved with the community. When Conrad sees Coach Whitney he knows he wants to date her but, at the same time he can't talk with her. 

 

Coach Whitney is the JV coach for a high school hockey team. She loves being on the ice with the boys and coaching them. Her brother, Victor is also a NHL player, who is a shark, and very deadly on the ice. Victor plays dirty, and other players don't like that about it. Whitney meets Conrad and another one of his teammates when they are over at the high school during the summer to help the boys out with summer camp. The boys love that they are there and working with them. 


Conrad asks Whitney out for a date, but its a disaster. He can only answer one words to her questions. And Whitney can't carry the entire dinner date on her own. How can this work out? Whitney leaves the date and they don't see each other for a few months. Conrad asks her out again, and his hockey teammates also show up to the date, only to help him through the date. They all talk and have a good time. Conrad and Whitney are able to hit things off without Conrad's teammates. Which is fantastic for them, no more double / triple dates for them. Once Conrad gets use to being around Whitney he does ok. and she does also. She asks getting to know you questions and never puts any pressure on Conrad, they always take things slow. 

 

But Whitney's brother hates Conrad. But, why? Is it because Conrad out skates him when they play against each other? Or is it something else? Can Whitney and Conrad be together even though her brother hates him?

ARC Book Review - Twisted Pawn (Society of Villains, #2) by L.J. Shen

  Book Rating:    We meet most of the same characters from Book 1, Bad Bishop. I recommend reading book 1, Bad Bishop as the characters, history are explained. Book 2, picks up where Bad Bishop leaves off.      Book Tropes:  Enemies to Lovers, Second Chance, Morally grey hero,  Obsessed , Stalker, Slow Burn.  Tierney Callaghan & Achilles  met when they were teenagers and they were mostly together dating in secret through their high school days. Tierney and  Tiernan Callaghan  are twins. They were taken as babies and raised in a Russian work camp. They both have  trauma   from that experience.
