Contessa Gallo grew up wealthy. She has never wanted for anything. Now she is grown up, 23, living on her own. She has a company she is trying to get off the ground but she doesn’t want to use her dad’s money, or go to him to get funds. She goes to his best friend, Matteo Marino, as he is a wealthy businessman. What she doesn’t understand is that Matteo has been waiting on her to become an adult. Matteo is more than willing to help her fund her new business venture.
Matteo Marino isn’t someone who you cross. He is a mob boss and someone who is respected and feared. But when Contessa comes to him asking to be a backer in her new company he knows he has to. He wants to be close to her. He wants to help her. He knows on some level it’s wrong for him to want her as much as he does.
Matteo is controlling in how he hunts Contessa, and how he forcing himself into her life. He could have been gentler, but he doesn’t do anything gentle. Contessa’s father doesn’t realize they are together and he finds out in a public setting and the news of their being together doesn’t sit well with her father at all.
Will Matteo be able to keep Contessa? Will Matteo be able to keep his friendship with Contessas father? Will Contessas company be able to get off the ground and be successful?
