ARC Book Review - The Truths We Find: Love Uncovered Series by Donna Bollen

DANI, works in San Diego, CA, as a news broadcaster producer. She was up for a promotion, but they gave it to someone outside the company, who happens to be her ex - Gavin. Dani has been dating Sam, her childhood best friend for the past 9 yrs. Sam is in the Marines and he was recently deployed. He knew 3 months ago he was leaving but only told Dani the weekend before he was leaving, giving her a 3 day notice that he was leaving for the next 8 months. Dani and Sam are living together and are dating, but, they aren't really 'in love' with each other. Well, Dani isn't for sure, she's with him, but, she knows she should be with someone else. 

GAVIN, when he interviewed for the position he didn't know that Dani was also up for it as well. When he arrived at the news channel he didn't know who worked there. And on his introduction to the team day he see Dani. Gavin also has a twin brother, Emmett who was best friends with Dani before they broke up. They haven't spoken either in the past 10yrs. When Emmett comes to visit for a weekend he really isn't there to see Gavin, but, to see Dani. 

Dani and Gavin are trying to work together and have been doing a great job of being around each other as friends the past month he has been there. But, Gavin knows he wants more than friendship with Dani. But, he's worried that what drove them apart 10 yrs ago will come back to haunt him, and drive Dani away again. Will Gavin be able to explain what happened? Will he be able to share why he never moved out to California to be with her like they planned? Or will Sam get in the way of their happiness again like he did 10 yrs ago?

ARC Book Review - Twisted Pawn (Society of Villains, #2) by L.J. Shen

  Book Rating:    We meet most of the same characters from Book 1, Bad Bishop. I recommend reading book 1, Bad Bishop as the characters, history are explained. Book 2, picks up where Bad Bishop leaves off.      Book Tropes:  Enemies to Lovers, Second Chance, Morally grey hero,  Obsessed , Stalker, Slow Burn.  Tierney Callaghan & Achilles  met when they were teenagers and they were mostly together dating in secret through their high school days. Tierney and  Tiernan Callaghan  are twins. They were taken as babies and raised in a Russian work camp. They both have  trauma   from that experience. Both were raised as killers and can fight with the best of them. Tierney doesn't need the bodyguards Achilles makes guard her, she's her own bodyguard.
