In Book 1, End Game (Lucky #11) Branch Best & Layla Miller are dating, even though Finn told his sister not to. Layla's best friend is Poppy who has been dating Layla's brother Finn. Poppy Quinn & Finn Miller have been friends with benefits for a few years. Finn wants to date only Poppy make that move with her, but, Poppy scares easily and she runs when things get hard for her she bolts. Layla likes being friends with Finn, they work great together. 

 

Finn gets interviewed by a magazine at the sports arena one day, and what he told them gets twisted, and when the article comes out, it states that Finn is engaged! Finn talks with Poppy about possibly being 'fake' engaged so they could get the money from the endorsement deals, and maybe a free vacations out of it, by going to a few hotels. Poppy doesn't like the idea of someone else with Finn, but, she also doesn't want to be with him as a girlfriend. Poppy & Finn agree to become engaged, its what they are doing anyways, hanging out, except more hand holding and kissing in public. Poppy knows this will only go so far, like to the end of the football season, but, she likes being with Finn and seeing what all they could get with the endorsement deals. 

 

Poppy has never truly opened up to Layla or to Finn about her past. When he past comes up through that same magazine company she isn't sure if Finn will stay with her or if he will drop her, like she thinks he will. Finn is all about Poppy and wants to be there for her, until she realizes that he will always be there for her. But, will she?

ARC Book Review - Twisted Pawn (Society of Villains, #2) by L.J. Shen

  Book Rating:    We meet most of the same characters from Book 1, Bad Bishop. I recommend reading book 1, Bad Bishop as the characters, history are explained.
