Book Tropes: Second Chance, Stalker Masked MMC, Childhood Celeb Crush
Found Family, Sports, Skater Boy / Skater Girl, Close Quarters
Tweetie (Reagan) was a teenager when her father died. She lived on the streets for a year before King took her in and gave her a home at the Patchwork House. King, Flip & Daniel were the founders of Patchwork house. Taking in those kids off the street who needed help and a home. Tweetie is a girl, trying to make it in the boys skateboarding world. She works hard but she keeps coming up short in her competitions. She lets her head get the better of her. Tweetie left 2 yrs ago from the house. Where did she go? How did she survived? Where was she?
Flip (Nate) has been on his own most of his life. He started hanging out with King and Daniel when he was younger. They came up with the Patchwork house, and vowed to keep it running and working with how many kids that they seem to help. Flip disappeared for a while. Where did he go? What was he doing? How did he survive? Flip has always been Tweetie's shadow even when she lived on the streets before coming to Patchwork house.
Flip had a skateboarding career but, we find out he isn't skating and hasn't in a while? But, he was on the Olympic team? Why did he stop skating? Why doesn't he touch the boards anymore?
It goes along with the story, but there was lying and deceitfulness going on. I think the boys in the house could have told Tweetie the truth. A lot of the questions above we don't know the answers too.
I did receive a free ARC Copy of this book. I am freely leaving a honest book review.
