  Book Rating:  This is the 2nd book in the series, but, you can read as a stand alone.  Malcolm Macallan works in the bank and is the loan officer for the town.  He and his family have always lived in the small town of Crested Butte, CO. Malcolm has 4 brothers, a father and a Gran in the area that he has always been around. He loves his family even though he is quite gruff on the outside. He would rather work, and be busy, than stand around doing nothing. His family - Gran is from Scotland and still has her thick Scottish accent even though she's been in the US for a few decades now. His father has the same thick accent as his mother.  Chloe Byrnes, is a newcomer into the small town, and has taken over the bakery. Her treats / breads are fantastic however, the small town of Crested Butte, CO, is still loyal to the prior baker, even though he is retired and sold the Sweet Treats Bakery business to her. Chloe is not making a lot of money with this business, as she is starting out. B

  Book Rating:  Josie has moved to San Francisco, CA for a 3 month job with the library. She received a grant to work at a San Fran library, and she absolutely loves it. However, the job is just temporary. She wants to stay, but libraries don't make a lot of money, and don't have a lot of money. She knows that her time in the city is coming to an end.  Josie's brother is Christian who is a captain on the NHL team. Her brother and sister-in-law just had twins, and she wants to be around him and his family, but knows staying with them isn't an option, as his place is crowded with the twins.   Book Rating   The book starts out with a one night stand between  Laird Faris &  Poppy  Stanfield. Laird & Poppy have off the charts chemistry together for the 1-2 nights they are with each other. Laird wants to meet up with Poppy before his flight out so she can come with him, but she never comes and Laird assumes that she didn't want to go with him after all and that she stood him up.  2 yrs later, we meet Poppy again, who is a private chef, who is working - you hire someone to come and cook for you. She is hired out to go work for Laird up at his family's cabin far away from LA. Laird can't believe she's in his house. Why is she stalking him now after 2 yrs of never seeing her? Laird doesn't realize she was hired by his sister or the record label to come and cook for him. Poppy doesn't know why Laird is being so weird and awful towards her.   Book Rating:  Aaron   Clare - he is in a MC biker gang,  The Fallen.  They do a lot of good for the community but they also fight those who are harming innocents. Aaron is described as lean with 8 pack abs. Don't they all?  “Blue” works at a local gas station. One night, Aaron is inside flirting a little with her and also looking for things to eat. When a group comes in to rob Blue, Aaron wasn't thinking of helping, but he knew they would take her and do vile things to her. Blue is 'soft' and chubby and often told how fat and overweight she is. I didn't like the putting down of the character and how she felt about herself.  The author has a lot of slang, street language  “‘n” (fightin’ and laughin’)  that I just couldn't get into.  I did receive a free ARC copy of this book.
